12 years of structural engineering experience working on multi-million pound projects across the UK, now focussing on local domestic and commercial projects across Wales and Mid to North England.
Substructure and superstructure design for single and double-storey extensions, including ground bearing strip, raft and deepened foundation solutions.
Steel ridge beams, new rafters, purlins and rafter stays — designed to allow removal of existing trusses and open up the roof structure.
Knock-throughs, load-bearing wall removals, goalpost supports and internal steel frames for domestic, commercial and industrial buildings.
Raft foundations, ground bearing strips, ground beams, reinforced suspended slabs and hollow block retaining walls — designed to suit ground conditions confirmed by trial pit or geotechnical review.
RC retaining walls and hollow block solutions, including integration with substructure and liaison with Building Control.
3D structural modelling for architectural coordination.
Full substructure and superstructure design with deepened foundations near mature trees.
Ridge beam, rafters and purlins designed and delivered for a newly introduced contractor.
Steel frame designed and craned into position with close Building Control coordination.
Superstructure design for a multi-sports hall comprising steel portal frames spanning 18m, with bracing in the perpendicular direction. Cladding rails and purlins within rafter stays were utilised as secondary steelwork. A total of 50 tonnes of hot and cold-rolled steelwork was used to complete the project.
Substructure and superstructure design incorporating a retaining wall into the hillside, large glazed elements framed with robust steelwork, a lower ground garage and mezzanine structure.
Superstructure design of 22 industrial units comprising steel portal frames and ground bearing slab. Modelled in Revit and analysed using Tekla Structural Designer, producing full structural steelwork drawings suitable for co-ordination and construction.
Following a ground conditions review, a raft foundation was designed for the substructure of 7 new residential plots. A hollow block retaining wall was detailed and tied into two sides of the foundation to allow the finished floor level to sit below highway level.
